BEST builds skills and aspirations with ‘Youth in Construction'

BESTbuild has started a ‘Youth in Construction' project in partnership with Nottingham City Homes. Young people from the Aspley Ward not in education, employment or training known as NEETs are working with BESTbuild to spruce up their local streets. BESTbuild have taken on 8 young people who are painting, cleaning; and renovating garden fences.

BESTbuild has been contracted by specialist regeneration developer Blueprint to construct a new footpath as part of the £8 million Green Street in The Meadows development on the Trent Embankment in Nottingham. The footpath will link newly-built eco-homes with the neighbouring Memorial Gardens and is scheduled for completion in January.

BEST Social Enterprise
BEST reduces unemployment by teaching transferrable work skills. Student clients live in the Broxtowe Estate and the north Nottingham area, and are not in employment, education or training (NEETs). Training is through accredited courses with information, advice and guidance. Other BEST services help companies with recruitment, social sustainability or corporate responsibility. It runs a construction firm, BESTbuild serving the private and public sectors.
